NMR Spectroscopy & NMR Imaging

NMR Spectroscopy and NMR Imaging (or Microscopy) are now the most commonly used methods of spectroscopic analysis. To obtain the required information, a variety of experimental techniques are employed which are not just restricted to analytical procedure.

INFAI is a modern company that provides its customers with a vast range of services based on NMR Spectroscopy & NMR Imaging. State-of-the-art technologies combined with highly qualified scientific staff ensure fast, reliable and inexpensive solutions to a variety of analytical problems

NMR-Spektrometer

INFAI is currently running a 500 MHz and a 400 MHz spectrometer both equipped with a BRUKER micro-imaging unit. To operate these spectrometers INFAI employs a wide range of probeheads as well as a BEST system (High Throughput NMR - see fig.).

For many companies it is not practical to run their own NMR department due to the high investment and maintenance costs. INFAI offers these companies the possibility to integrate the most advanced NMR Spectroscopy into their research projects.

Spectrum

NMR Spectroscopy is an appropriate technique for the analysis of most liquid samples. Different compounds in solution can be measured simultaneously without the need for prior separation. The most frequently analysed materials are labelled with stable isotopes of hydrogen (1H and 2H), carbon (13C), nitrogen (15N) and phosphorus (31P). However many other isotopes can also be measured, which may have different natural abundance or are contained within enriched samples. NMR Spectroscopy often avoids the use of radioactive isotopic tracers.

Mikroskopie

With the development of NMR-microscopy (NMR-Imaging) a completely new dimension of imaging became available for medicine, biology and material investigation. This non-destructive method can display the internal structure of food, plants and smaller creatures, biopsy samples, as well as biological and synthetic polymers.
